Nathaniel " Nate" Burnett

Nathaniel Burnett was born August 14, 1939 to the late Jurell and Marie Burnett. On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, God sent his loving angels to bring him home to rest at the age of 84 years. 

He was a lifelong resident of Picayune, MS.  He enjoyed fishing, telling jokes, playing pool, and spending quality time with his loved ones. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; Helen H. Burnett; son, Michael Burnett; grandson, Lawrence "Peanut" Wilson, Jr.; brother, Paul Burnett; sister, Earnestine Burnett; and mother-in-law, Victoria Smith.

Nathaniel precious memories will be cherished by his beloved wife, Lena Turner Burnett; four daughters, Donna (James) Burnett-Eskridge, Dawn Lewis, Tina (Raymond) Smith and Rene' (Jeffery) Tyson; one son, Scott; three brothers, Jewel Burnett, J.C. Burnett and Charles Burnett; two sisters, Dorothy (Willie) Posley and Elsie McLaughlin; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2pm at East Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Russell Davis is Pastor.
Visitation from 1-2pm at the church.  Interment will be in the Burnett Cemetery in Henleyfield, MS
