Funeral services for Philon McKinsie, Sr.,will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Visitation from 10-11 a.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church. Elder Eric McKenzie of Eruption of Glory Community Church, Houston, TX, will be the Eulogist and Pastor Rev. Dr. Michael Kelley will be the officiant. 

Philon was born to Ms. Ada and the late Philmore McKinsie, Jr. in New Orleans, LA on January 18, 1983. 

He departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, MS at the age of 41.

Philon leaves to cherish his memories one son, Philon McKinsie, Jr; mother, Ms. Ada McKinsie; sister, Shoshannah McKinsie; brothers, Kim McKenzie, Baton Rouge, LA and Elder Eric McKenzie, Houston, TX; Aunt, Hannah McKenzie, New Orleans, LA and Juanita Jefferson; Uncle Leroy Bridges, Meridian, MS, his childhood best friend, Lawrence Woods of Detroit, MI and a host of family, cousins, extended relatives and friends. 

Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery. Entrusted to Brown’s Funeral Home. .
