Shannon Michelle Parker

Shannon Michelle Parker, age 41, was born on October 30, 1982, to Lelar Parker and John Parker. Shannon proudly graduated from Hancock High School in 2001 and furthered her education at Xavier University before courageously enlisting in the United State Air Force.  She devotedly served our nation with distinction for over two decades, retiring after 20 years and 6 months of honorable service.  A dedicated member of Holmes Chapel United Methodist Church, Shannon accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Elder Bobby McGill.  Shannon was deeply rooted in her community and faith.  

She is lovingly survived by her devoted parents, Lelar Parker and John (Anita) Parker; her caring sister, Tayona (Dionn) Ogburn; her stepbrothers, Victor Spears and Lawrence Spears III; her nieces, Brittney Drake and Chandria Ogburn; her nephews, Marco Conerly and Dequivus Ogburn; and a vast circle of family, friends, and fellow service members who deeply cherished her.

Funeral services to celebrate Shannon's remarkable life will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11 AM, at Holmes Chapel United Methodist Church in Pearlington, MS.  She will be laid to rest at Pearlington Public Cemetery, leaving a legacy of bravery, commitment, and love.
